It’s been more than 10 weeks since Facebook promised to launch the new profile page, “Timeline”. But nothing has been initiated.
Today finally Facebook started rolling out the new user interface, ‘Timeline’ to users in New Zealand in the morning. Facebook’s Product Manager Samuel W. Lessin made the announcement today on the Facebook blog on why they have started the process with New Zealand, “As a global company, we need to gain perspective & insights from outside the US. One benefit of starting rollout in New Zealand is that it’s English speaking, so we can read the feedback and make improvements quickly.”
By afternoon, some users from India also experienced the new Timeline Interface.
Timeline was supposed to launch within weeks after f8 but Facebook did not rush anything. Initially facebook only launched the developers version.
Facebook calls Timeline “the evolution of your profile” as it highlights all the important updates of your life.
Timeline is more about visual: not only does it have a giant cover photo at the top, but also lets you star your favorite photos to double their size.
In Timeline, you can check everything you shared since you joined Facebook very easily.
We will keep you updated about the reaction of the users about Timeline.
In the meantime, if you have access to ‘Timeline’, what do you think about this new interface?
Is it irritating or awesome?
