Google Launches Nexus 7 Tablet With Android 4.1 For Rs. 11,000

Search Engine Giant Google finally launched its Nexus 7 tablet running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) , at its Google I/O conference in San Francisco for Rs 11,000 ($199).

The Nexus 7 tablet is made by the Taiwanese company Asus and not by the Google’s own Motorola hardware unit.

Specification and Features of Google Nexus 7 Tablet:

– Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean): It includes an all new intelligent new keyboard, voice search, offline voice typing support, accessibility improvements, Google Now and 18 new input languages.

– 7-inch (1280×800 Pixels) IPS display

– 10.45mm thick and weighs 0.7 pound

– 1.3 GHz Quad Core NvidiaTegra 3 Processor

– 1 GB RAM

– GeForce 12 core Graphics Processor

– Near Field communication (NFC)

– 1.2 MP front-facing camera

– 9 Hours of Video Playback

The Nexus 7 tablet can be ordered starting today on Google Play in US,Canada,Australia and UK and it will be available to ship from mid-July. But there is no information on the Indian launch date. The tablet will be available in two versions, 16 GB and 32 GB, priced at $199 and $249. You will also get free $25 credit for the Google Play store with the Nexus 7 tablet.

Microsoft officially announced its Surface Tablet to rival the Apple iPad. Though the price is yet to be announced but the product is capable to compete with high end tablets & even ultrabooks. The Surface tablet will be available in two versions: one that runs Windows RT and another version that runs Windows 8 Pro. That means the latter will be able to run all your windows programs.

The Indian Governement’s $35 tablet ‘Aakash’ is finally available to purchase at Rs. 2500 from Aakashtablet.com.
The upgraded version of Aakash, UbiSlate 7, will also be available to purchase from late January but you can pre-order it now on the website.

World’s cheapest tablet launched – Indian Govt’s ‘Aakash’

 

Following last week’s announcement by the Communications and IT Minister, Kapil Sibal, the Indian Government’s tablet named ‘Aakash’ has finally been launched.
Aakash is designed and developed under a collaboration between the Indian government, IIT Rajasthan & a British-based company DataWind.

– 7″ Resistive Touch Screen [ 800×480 Resolution]
– 366 Mhz Connexant processor [ The retail version will have 600 MHz processor ]

– 32 GB Expandable Memory via SD card slot
