14 May

Hello friends, today I want to share about my exciting experience of my recent trip to Goa. I was planning this trip for a very long time but due to my busy schedule, I was not getting any time. But one Friday night while drinking with some friends, we decided to go on this trip. We checked the ‘Yatra’ application, found some great offers on Domestic Airlines and so booked the flights for next morning itself.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning May 7, when we landed up on Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi airport. It was only one hour journey from Hyderabad to Goa and thanks to Indigo Airlines, we reached even before our scheduled time. It was drizzling outside. The temperature had come down and it was perfect weather for our weekend adventure. We could feel the essence of freshness and spirit of goa in the air. We already had booking at a very nice 4-star hotel at Margao which was booked through Yatra at a huge discount. We checked-in at hotel, freshened up and got ready to start our adventure.

First, we decided to check some famous beaches. We zeroed in on Colva beach. It was only eight kms from our Hotel, so we hired a taxi to go there. The whole afternoon and evening was spent on Colva beach itself. There was a restaurant cum bar on the beach. We had few beers and our lunch there. We strolled on the beach, enjoyed each other’s company, clicked many pictures and also did few adventure sports. Speed boating was fun for me.

At night, we decided to sleep on the beach itself. So, we took one bottle of whiskey, some food and blankets and lie down under the stars. We talked, reminisced our childhood, made fun of each other and finally slept listening to the sound of strong waves.

Next morning, we reached our hotel, had a bath and changed our clothes. We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel. Another best thing about Goa is that you can get vehicles on rent at a very cheap rate. You just need Valid ID proof and driving licence. So, we took two Royal Enfields bike for four of us and decided to go to Fort Aguada. The roads of Goa are little bumpy but we didn’t feel much on our bullets. Finally, we reached there and it was a gorgeous view . We sat there for a while and realised that we are so much busy in our jobs that we are missing the real adventure and fun of life. At that moment, we decided to go on such trips every 3-6 months.

At night, we decided to go to the famous ‘Casino Royale’ of Goa. On our way back to Casino, we also saw some famous churches of Goa. It was beautiful architecture in all of those churches. Finally, we reached the destination. I felt, the tickets were overpriced but the package had unlimited drinks & food and I got some casino chips also to play various games. I tried my hands in Blackjack and Poker. Though I won few games in the beginning but ultimately lost all the money I had. There were live performances also and great food. We enjoyed a lot that night. It was an amazing experience to see that lifestyle. We reached back to hotel at 4 AM.

Next morning, we had a flight back to Hyderabad and my trip to Goa had finally came to an end. I will never forget that weekend and I intend to create more such weekends in the future.
